Free time in Galway
Panoramic tour of the Burren region
2 hours on the Cliffs of Moher
On this tour we will cross the island from east to west until we arrive at the colorful Galway, a pretty Atlantic town. Here we will have an hour and a half of free time to have breakfast and tour the city.
We will explore the Burren National Park, which means rocky terrain in Irish Gaelic, precisely the coastal area south of Galway Bay, a calcareous area characterized by incredible lunar landscapes.
Here, due to a strange climate, flowers grow in abundance, including orchids as well as species of Alpine, Mediterranean and Arctic origin.
There are also monuments dating back to pre-Christian and medieval times.
Along the way, it will be possible to observe several ruins of Norman castles, the most famous and best preserved over time is the castle of Dungaire near Kinvarra. We will pass through some picturesque villages on the west coast, such as Kinvarra.
The main stop will take place at the famous Cliffs of Moher, recently recognized as a UNESCO asset, which in Irish Gaelic means Ruin. The highest point is 210 meters high and covers a length of almost 8 km. They overlook the Atlantic Ocean. Cliffs are the natural habitat of a wide variety of seabirds, the most famous, not surprisingly, the symbol of the cliffs themselves is the puffins of the sea, but they are rich in cormorants, sea magpies, marangoni, bertes and many other species. Thanks to this wealth of marine birdwatching, it is one of the best places in Ireland to practice birdwatching. Admission to the Cliffs Visitor Center is included in the price, and it is recommended to take advantage of the walk along the cliffs.
Free lunch, to be eaten at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Center facility, where you can buy a sandwich or something else, or have lunch at the self-service on the first floor.
The return to Dublin is to the county of Limerik, where the river Shannon is at the mouth of the River Shannon, a stop is scheduled at the service station dedicated to President Barack Obama.
